Therapeutic Approach

Compassion and Understanding

My therapeutic approach has been shaped by professional and personal experience, my personal therapy, my education, and advanced trainings. Therapy is an incredibly powerful and meaningful process that changes lives and creates huge transformations. It is always a privilege to be present in a person’s and couple’s journey of understanding, healing, and growth. My therapeutic approach focuses on getting to know my patients with compassion, curiosity, and tolerance to be able to see everyone as whole human beings with all of their strengths, beauty, pain, shame, and grief.

The Therapeutic Relationship

In conjunction with therapeutic techniques, I utilize the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle to create lasting and meaningful change and therefore strive to create a safe and comfortable environment for my patients. Although therapy is a challenging process, it is crucial that you feel safe and comfortable with your therapist. The therapeutic relationship provides the elements necessary for healing and growth. Exploring one’s pain, shame, and struggles is very challenging and painful thus we will also focus on your strengths to further develop those and utilize them to help in the healing process.

Biopsychosocial Approach

My international and diverse background has given me the opportunity to work with many different people in many different settings. In my previous career I saw the importance of balance and meaning, in order to reach one’s personal notion of success. My familiarity with the business world and its impact on those around me inspired me to pursue further knowledge in health psychology, which I frequently draw from in working with patients to address the biopsychosocial spheres of healing.

I’ve sought out training in health psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, pain psychology, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and MBT because I believe that healing and growth comes from the body and mind. Many traumas, health concerns and illnesses have a significant effect on the psyche; vice versa the mind often has an impact on the body and our health.
