Clinical Training and Experience

Education

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with an Emphasis in Biochemistry from the University of San Francisco. My Master of Arts and then my Doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology was completed at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in Los Angeles.

Research

My clinical dissertation, titled “Psychosocial Risk Factors And Coronary Artery Disease In Women”, evaluated how psychosocial risk factors can contribute to the development of coronary artery disease in women. In addition, the project examined and discussed how factors such as depression, anxiety, stress, and social support inhibit women’s ability to cope with their diagnosis and recovery. Psychotherapy for the patient and the family is thought to be an essential aspect in the recovery of coronary artery disease in women.

Professional Affiliations

I am a member of the Health and Pain Psychology Special Interest Group Facilitator of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association.
